Resolution

  • Setup banks
  • Setup Bank Accounts
  • Generate the letter Setup Banks Before sending out a bank letter you will first need to setup your banks:
  • Log into AutoMail from the IRIS main menu.
  • The Letter request Browser will be displayed. Click on File and then select ‘Browse Banks’ from the drop down menu.
  • The ‘IRIS Banks Database – Browse all banks’ will be displayed. Click on the new button
  • The ‘New Bank / Building Society’ will be displayed. Enter the required details and then click on the OK button. For example, bank name and address. Browse Bank Accounts Once you have setup your banks you will need to setup a bank account for each client:
  • Log into AutoMail from the IRIS main menu.
  • The Letter request Browser will be displayed. Click on File and then select ‘Browse Banks Accounts’ from the drop down menu.
  • The IRIS Banks Database – Browse Accounts’ screen will be displayed. Click on the New button
  • The ‘New Bank Account’ screen will be displayed. Select the client, bank/building society and other information for the bank account.
  • Click on the OK button. Generate the letter Once you have setup your banks and bank accounts you are ready to generate your bank letters through AutoMail.
  • Log into AutoMail from the IRIS main menu.
  • The Letter Request Browser will be displayed. Click on the generate button.
  • The ‘IRIS AutoMail – Generate Letters’ screen will be displayed.Click on the Select template button.
  • The ‘IRIS AutoMail – Select Template screen will be displayed. Select your bank letter. For example, a bank Authorisation letter.
  • You will return to the ‘IRIS AutoMail – Generate Letters’ screen.
  • Select a client. For example, select ‘single client’ and enter your client ID.
  • Ensure that there is a tick next to ‘Produce Bank Letter’.
  • Click on the OK button.
  • You must use a template with the context type ‘Client and Bank. For details on context types see KB IAS-7032: What are context types and how do I use them in AutoMail
