Problem

AP/BT Error 3001 3318 - the period to which this Return's Accounts applies does not coincide with the effective from/to dates of the referenced Accounts Taxonomy.

Resolution

This is a IRIS Accounts Production issue (and this is NOT a Business Tax error where the message normally appears), where the Error 3318 – the period to which this Return’s Accounts applies does not coincide with the effective from/to dates of the referenced Accounts Taxonomy occurs when submitting accounts to HMRC.

This may also show as ‘3001 3318 in accounts the period to which this Return’s Accounts applies does not coincide with the effective; 3320 period to which computation’

A fix if you receive the 3001 3318 error:

1. Navigate to Client > View > A-P Dates and check if dates have been entered correctly for FRS102 or FRS105.
2. Go to Posting > Post File Maintenance > Entries and select the first posting file.
3. Untick the incorporation date and enter the correct date into the system.
4. Create a new posting file by

Going to Posting > New
Selecting the same year end
Giving it a description
Once loaded, click Advanced > Import from posting entry
Select the same year in the posting entries screen
Select “no map” to import the postings.

5. Run IXBRL accounts again, validate, finalize, and create an HMRC copy.
6. If the error persists, try saving the accounts externally and attaching them to the tax return.

If the fix above doesn’t resolve it please raise a case within IRIS Community with the title 3001 3318 and 3320 so the Accounts Production team can apply other fixes.
