Problem
When trying to access IRIS the following error may occur; IRIS Startup Failure Module: CORE Emulator Failed to start Cause: Failed to login to database Unspecified error HRESULT hr=0x80004005 [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECDoClientHandshake ())). SSL Security Error
Resolution
This is caused because the Force Protocol Encryption option is selected within the SQL Server Client Network Utility
Following the steps below may help to resolve the problem:
For 32 Bit Systems
Click Start and type cliconfg.exe into the search box.
On the screen that comes up, untick the box next to Force Protocol Encryption and press OK
For 64 Bit Systems
Click Start and type C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cliconfg.exe into the search box.
On the screen that comes up, untick the box next to Force Protocol Encryption and press OK
Retry the IRIS software
