When I run reports for the current year the assets for last year do not appear.

Problem
When running report LTD for the current year, the fixed assets for the comparative year are not appearing. However when the reports for the comparative year are run the assets appear correctly.
Resolution
The assets will not appear for the comparative year, when current year’s reports are run, if no postings have actually been made in the current year.
Select Reports | Basic Trial balance
Select the current year posting entry and check to see if any postings have been made to Fixed Assets.
If no postings have been made in the current year, then last year’s fixed assets will not appear either.
Opening balances will need to be brought forward or posted into the current year to correct the problem.
