Problem
Why am I getting the following error message on the Balance Sheet? Balance sheet - does not balance - Please check that all postings have been made to accounts used on Partnership/Sole trader formats.
Resolution
There are a few things to check:
1. Select, Client | View – Ensure the correct business type is selected i.e. Sole trader/Partnership
NOTE: Business type ‘Other’ should only be used for Pensions
2. Select, Edit | Proprietor | highlight proprietor | click on View.
Check that you do not have a date entered that would cause a conflict, for example, if you are printing accounts for the year end 31 March 2018 and you have an end date entered for the trader of 31 March 2017. Remove the date and click Update to save.
3. Please ensure chart EPST is in use.
4. Select, Posting | Post
Please ensure that there are no *0 postings within the posting screen i.e. 985/1*0
