Problem

Resolution

If you go to Business Tax – Edit and Posting and add a entry, this will not show on the Tax computation correctly (Shows as ‘No description’ or uses a different posting description).

Our Development Team has confirmed this as a DEFECT in version 25.3.0. We have released a fix on the IRIS Service pack 25.4.0 November 2025.

Workaround: You will need to manually edit the Tax Comp by using the IXBRL Editor tool, see steps below. (The Guide to the Editor)

  1. Go to Reports in the top left-hand corner | Enhanced
  2. Select Final – click ok
  3. Corporation Tax Report Output – tick IXBRL – save in a location – click ok.
  4. Then go to Administration | IXBRL Editor
  5. Load an external IRIS file
  6. Locate your saved file and Click OK
  7. Then scroll to the page where you wish to make the change
  8. Make the relevant changes
  9. Go to the IRIS Logo in the top left hand corner and save this report
  10. When generating the tax return, under the attach computation section select ‘attach external’ instead of generate
  11. OR save the tax comp as a ‘word’ file and edit the tax comp manually.

IF a Partnership Business with manual postings

For partnerships then use WORD or PDF editor or use postings from AP directly. If you do save the report as WORD then your pc will attempt to convert all the IRIS lines, spaces and tables into word but may not look ideal.

  1. Change from Portrait to ‘Landscape’ – this can change the overall layout
  2. Tables for Capital allowances + Structures and Building allowance; may be affected – either move the tables up and down the page to review the changes OR manually add in a table/copy a table and type in the values (see example below). We recommend you use EXCEL to create the table etc and copy it into word.
