Resolution
There is a DEFECT happening in version 25.2.0 when running reports, where if you have:
NOTE: If you have a sole trader now changed to a Partnership (and vice versa) there is a known defect when running any reports https://www.iris.co.uk/support/knowledgebase/kb/personal-tax-2025-reports-and-farmers-averaging-crashing-on-version-25-2-iftradetypechanged/
a) Partnership type business (Where its either Active/Not active) where it only has ONE partner within it. Open the business at the top, Related, Involvements, Partners tab and check if there is only ONE partner listed. This ‘one partner’ can cause PT to crash when you try and generate any report (Draft/Final return, Tax comp etc). This may also affect non active/ceased partnerships more often because all partners associated with trade may have been removed by IRIS users.
Workarounds:
- Open the business at the top of TPV, Related, Involvements, Partners tab and click NEW – add in at least 1 more partner (So at least 2 partners must exist). The reports may run again.
- If it was a Partnership but now a Sole Trader then change to a Sole trader type. The reports may run again.
The IRIS Development team has investigated the issue and a fix to this is now out. Update to IRIS version 25.3 released in early October 2025.
