Problem
IRIS Personal Tax- Enter 'Crypto' Assets in Capital Gains?
Resolution
With the IRIS version 25.1.0, users can now enter ‘Crypto Asset’ Capital Gains (this new option did not exist before version 25.1.0).
- Load PT and the client and select year
- Dividends
- Capital Assets
- Other Capital Gains (Do not enter under ‘Shareholdings’ as there is no ‘Crypto Pooling’ function in IRIS PT)
- Enter details in the fields and tick ‘Cryptoassets’ and OK
- It will appear on the ‘Cryptoassets’ CG page 1 eg 13.4 if a gain etc.
- If you need Box 13.5 CG1 populated – there has to be a LOSS entry which has then been ticked ‘Cryptoassets’
