Problem

IRIS Personal Tax- How to import data directly into UK Land and Property? using CSV files

Resolution

  1. Load the client and relevant year.
  2. Go to UK Land and Property | UK Property Income
  3. There must be a existing property; if not then create the one you want.
  4. Click Other Property options or FHL Property options and Import from File.
  5. You need to use a specific file to import. Click Settings (if this link will not open or a message displays saying: ‘cannot reach site’, check your browser/pc settings which can block access).
  6. Click IRIS import templates.
  7. Download the one you want to use.
Note: It will only pick up CSV files. If you use the Excel version, then you must save it as a CSV file first. Save your work on the import file on your pc.
  8. Click Other Property options or FHL Property options and Import from File.
  9. At the top: IMPORT FILE and click the magnifying glass.
  10. Find and select the CSV file you saved and Open.
  11. Select the relevant pull down options and then Import.
  12. IF the ‘category’ entry from the CSV is exactly the same name/text in IRIS, then PT can automatically assign the row to the correct category, however if it remains ‘blank’ once imported – then it cant find it and you need to manually assign it to the correct category. For example ‘Electricity,Gas etc.'(spelt exactly like this) entry may be picked up from the csv and auto assigned to ‘Electricity,Gas etc.’ category
  13. The data will now show in Income or Expenses tab:

There was a known issue in version mid 2025 -version 25.2.0 where importing a CSV will cause a error of ‘FILELOADEXCEPTION’. We are looking at a update in Autumn 2025 under version 25.3.0. As a workaround please manually add in the values into the clients PT account. If using the MTD quarterly period submissions -a workaround at this stage is to put the postings in to AP with the correct date and pass through this data into PT.
