Problem

User is unable to display or open help files, with nothing showing in the topic pane. Or when trying to open the help files, it displays an error message "Action cancelled" in the topic pane.

This error affecting network installations of payroll is due to a Windows security update which restricts the opening of this type of file (.chm) over a network.

Resolution

To resolve this issue we have included in the admin mode of the software a utility to move the help file off the network onto your local PC.

Log into the admin mode (Name:SYSTEM, and your admin password)

Go to “File” | “Run Utility

From the drop down menu choose “Update Help File Location” and click “OK

On the “Browse for Folder” window choose where you would like to store the help files and click OK.

On the update help file location windows click yes.

The help files are now stored locally and you will be able to view from your software.

This process needs to be performed for each workstation on the network installation.
