Problem
During the payroll calculation, the following error may appear: 'SystemCastException: Cast from string type "db" to type string not valid'.
Resolution
Step 1: In Pay Variations, do a quick calculate on each employee until you find one with a similar error.
Step 2: Select that particular employee in Employee Details.
Step 3: Ensure all the date fields (birth date, join date, leaved ate, deceased date) are in the format dd/MM/yyyy
If the dates appear to be correct, check in Pay Variations that the number 1 Basic Pay appears correctly. If you do not see a Basic Pay line then open that particular employee in the Employee Details screen and ensure the forename/surname fields contain data. Amend as necessary, save, close then recalculate.
