Problem
When trying to log reports for confidential clients I get the message: Unable to store content of report for client ID A001 Confidential clients require a folder with permissions that protect its content
Resolution
This is a feature of report logging for confidential clients to help prevent people accessing sensitive information that they have no permission to see.
To set a confidential client password:
Open the IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management
The Staff Control Panel will be displayed
Go to Launch | Client Lookup
Highlight a client (e.g. A001) and click on View
In the Basic tab, click on the ‘Advanced’ button
Select Confidentiality
The Confidential Client New Password screen will be displayed
Enter the new password (e.g kite)
Repeat the new password
Click on OK
To log a report:
Open the IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Personal Tax
Go to Reports | All Computation
Tick final and click on OK
The Report Logging options box will be displayed, with the message:
Unable to store content of report for client ID A001
Confidential clients require a folder with permissions that protect its content
As a result a client folder is required to be setup with permissions set so that only certain people can access it. This client folder should then be linked to the confidential client in Practice Management, to do this:
Open the IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management
The Staff Control Panel will be displayed
Go to Launch | Client Lookup
Highlight a client (e.g. A001) and click on View
Enter a confidential password (e.g. kite), click on OK
Click on the ‘Communications’ tab
Click on the ‘Client Folder’ button
Specify the location of the client folder and click the OK button
