Problem

IRIS Personal Tax- Enter 'Crypto' Assets in Capital Gains?

Resolution

With the IRIS version 25.1.0, users can now enter ‘Crypto Asset’ Capital Gains (this new option did not exist before version 25.1.0).

  1. Load PT and the client and select year
  2. Dividends
  3. Capital Assets
  4. Other Capital Gains (Do not enter under ‘Shareholdings’ as there is no ‘Crypto Pooling’ function in IRIS PT)
  5. Enter details in the fields and tick ‘Cryptoassets’ and OK
  6. It will appear on the ‘Cryptoassets’ CG page 1 eg 13.4 if a gain etc.
  7. If you need Box 13.5 CG1 populated – there has to be a LOSS entry which has then been ticked ‘Cryptoassets’
