IRIS shortlisted for technology innovation

IRIS has been shortlisted at the Taxation Awards 2013 in the category for technology innovation.

Debuted in 2001, the LexisNexis Taxation Awards are the gold standard of excellence in the UK tax industry.

This award is open to all software suppliers, professional bodies, businesses and charities. The judges will be looking for a software package, website, or similar use of technology that shows invention in addressing a need either of taxpayers or their advisers

IRIS is constantly looking ways to help our customers in the accountancy sector improve their internal efficiency and collaboration with their clients. In June 2012, IRIS OpenSpace was launched, a cloud-based solution that allows accountants to exchange documents, such as tax returns, financial statements or statutory accounts, with their clients in an easy to use, secure environment.

IRIS OpenSpace v2 was launched in time for the 2013 January self-assessment deadline, almost instantly the new functionality which allowed accountants to receive instant electronic approval from their clients in accordance to HMRC, was used in earnest. IRIS OpenSpace v2 with e-Approval is not just limited to use by IRIS customers. As part of IRIS’ commitment to the accountancy profession, ANY accountancy firm in the UK can use 1GB of storage space and the e-Approval functionality

This year’s event will be held on Thursday 23rd May at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London.
