Payroll software provider IRIS Software Group has launched “Emergency RTI and Payroll Year End” training courses throughout April, to help ensure no business is left unprepared for the new legislative change brought in by HMRC.

Real Time Information (RTI), the biggest change to payroll since PAYE was introduced in 1944, was rolled out on 6th April to over 1.4 million businesses across the UK. However, a poll carried out by business advisory firm Moore and Smalley found that almost 30 per cent of businesses are still not prepared for the change.

Mark Paraskeva, CEO of IRIS SME Division commented: “We have been preparing for RTI for over two years now, ensuring all IRIS payroll software is ready for the change. We have been running both free and paid for training seminars across the country, which over 13,000 payroll professionals have enrolled on to date.

There was always going to be a risk that some businesses would not be prepared in time, especially as year-end is always a busy time for the payroll industry. Judging by the thousands of businesses who have contacted us in recent weeks, it seems many are still not ready. Therefore we decided to launch emergency courses to meet this need and ensure no business is left behind.”

The three hour emergency courses will educate businesses on the legislative changes, as well as explain how to process PAYE submissions in real time. The sessions will also include a live demonstration and question and answer session with one of IRIS’ in-house RTI experts.
