IRIS Software Group sees over 400% increase in uptake of managed payroll service in preparation for RTI
Payroll software provider IRIS Software Group has seen a rapid growth in the number of employers utilising its managed payroll service in the months leading up the introduction of Real Time Information (RTI).
Claire Treadwell, senior product manager at IRIS, commented: “In the past year we’ve seen a massive influx in the number of payroll jobs requested by our managed service, a 433 per cent increase. Our managed team have been participating in the HMRC RTI pilot scheme since it began and I think this gives clients the confidence that we can cater for their needs.”
The IRIS managed service was voted “world class” in a recent customer satisfaction survey, receiving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +78. NPS is a customer loyalty measure used around the world, with a score of +50 being considered world class.
“Our managed payroll office uses IRIS RTI payroll software and is manned by qualified CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) members with an average length of payroll experience of 20 years,” added Treadwell. “IRIS has been supporting employers through their preparation for RTI with compliant software and training, but we also wanted to offer a service for businesses that feel as though the change is too much and want to pass the task on to someone else and spend their time elsewhere.”
IRIS has also recently introduced a managed payroll service for GP practices; tailored to fit their specific needs, including handling all aspects of the NHS pension scheme.
RTI was introduced on 6 April and is now compulsory for all companies with 5,000 or fewer employees – it will be rolled out to larger businesses throughout the year. Under this new legislation, employers are required to submit records to HMRC each time a payroll is run, rather than annually at year-end.
“We have been working constantly for the past 18 months developing our software and managed service to ensure that our users will be fully compliant with the change to RTI. We’re thrilled to announce that we shipped RTI versions of all IRIS payroll software options to our customers ahead of the 6 April deadline,” Treadwell concluded.
IRIS has supplied organisations across the UK with payroll solutions for over 30 years, and one element of this has been a managed payroll service, for businesses who feel as though they don’t have the time or expertise to run their own payroll in-house. As well as offering a full payroll service, clients can choose from an “á la carte menu”, with employers having the option to pick and choose which services they outsource including a BACS service, payslip printing and P11D production.
