Email Assistant intermittently shows the following error when opening outlook "Unable to initialise the Iris Email Assistant addin. Addin features will not be available"


If all users are affected it is likely the service responsible for the email assistant addin will need to be restarted, please find the steps below to assit with this:
  • Connect onto the server which has IRIS Docs installed on
  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Type Services.msc
  • Click OK
  • Scroll down to the INVU ECM Service
  • Click Restart in the top left hand corner After following the steps above users will need to close/reopen Microsoft Outlook for the change to take effect. However if not all users are affected, it is likely the email assistant will need to be reinstalled, please find the steps below to assist with this process:
  • Open Microsoft Outlook > click file > options > addins > click go > highlight ‘Iris Outlook 2010 Email Assistant for OpenDocs’ – Click Remove
  • Close Outlook
  • Click start > in search programs and files type %appdata% > double click on invu > if there is a file with a .iac file extension, delete this file
  • Open control Panel > Programs & Features > uninstall Iris email assistant
  • Reopen Iris opendocs. Click OK to the pop-ups asking to install the email assistant.
  • Reopen outlook
