- The following validation error has occurred when generating the clients Electronic Tax Return Box [SA110:Increase in tax from adjustment to earlier years] completed, box [SA101:Post cessation or other business receipts] must also be completed. Please check. This has resulted in rejection error 6596 Box increase in tax from adjustment to earlier year completed, box post cessation or other business receipts must also be completed. Please check.
- Resolution
- This situation has occurred because an entry has been made within box 13 on page TC2, HMRC required a corresponding entry within one of the other boxes stated within the validation error. If it’s not possible to complete these boxes users are required to use the following work around: 1. Log on to IRIS Personal Tax and select the client. 2. Click Other Income then select Any Other Income or Profits. 3. Click New, select income type 5 then click OK. 4. Enter income received of 0.01, change the tax year to the prior year then click OK.
