IRIS Practice Management
Within Practice Management it's possible to store electronic documents. For example Automail documents, reports, word documents and more. IRIS works with 3rd party document management systems INVU and Easy to provide additional document management features, such as legal admissability. I have many documents with the same name for the same client. For example, client A001 has four tax return covers. How can I tell which one is which in Easy/Invu? For example, tax return cover.
The ‘External Document ID’ column in Communications tab will show you the corresponding reference number for the document which is stored in INVU. To add this column, follow these steps:
  • Open IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management
  • The Staff Control Panel will be displayed
  • Go to Launch | Client Lookup
  • Highlight a client (e.g A001), click on View
  • Go to the ‘Communications’ tab
  • Click on ‘Configure’
  • Tick thr box ‘External Document ID’
  • Click ‘OK’
