Problem

It has been reported that in some situations the following Schema Error appears when attempting to submit an Incorporation (Send EINC) within Company Formations: Element CompanyNumber is Invalid ln 96 The https://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk:CompanyNumber is invalid - The value '1234567' is invalid according to its datatype 'String' - The Pattern contraint failed ln 138 The https://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk:CompanyNumber is invalid - The value '1234567' is invalid according to its datatype 'String' - The Pattern contraint failed

Resolution

The Schema Error above appears where the Company Registered Number is invalid. As the Company being formed does not yet have a Registered Number the Schema Error occurs as a result of the ‘Other Directorships’ of the Directors having invalid Company Numbers. Select: Edit | Directors/Secretary | View, click the magnifying glass next to the ‘Director’ field, click [View] then select the [Related] tab. Click [View Client] to open the ‘Business Client Maintenance’ screen and check the Registered Number entered. All Company Registered Numbers should have 8 digits. If only 7 digits have been entered it is likely that a leading 0 is required. Prefix the number with 0 and save the screen. Companies registered in Scotland require a leading SC therefore if only 6 digits have been entered prefix the number with SC and save the screen. Once the amendements have been made, attempt to resubmit (Send EINC). If problems persist please contact IRIS Support.
