Problem
When posting to different work types, different charge rates are not being picked up.
Resolution
It has been reported in v23.3 that when posting to different work types, the charge rates are not behaving as expected.
For example: You have work type A with a charge rate of 22 applied, you also have work type B with no charge rate applied.
If you post to a client and use work type A it shows the charge rate of 22 correctly.
If you then post to work type B, it sets the charge rate to 22 however, should this not be set manually, the posting will revert to the staff members default charge rate.
Note: This was fixed in the IRIS Accountancy Suite v23.4 release however, to resolve a different issue, v23.4 had to be re-released and this issue was reintroduced.
The work around for this issue is to display the charge rate column by right-clicking on a column header and ticking Charge Rate and then changing the rate.
If you do not have the option to display the charge rate column, you may not have the required privilege.
This privilege can be enabled from:
- System Maintenance.
- Select Staff.
- Select Staff Maintenance.
- Highlighting the required Staff ID and click View.
- Select the Privileges tab.
- Scroll to the Time ledger privileges section.
- Enable Change charge rates and allocate them to staff member and/or work types.
