Problem
When trying to run a backup in Microsoft Server Management Studio Express, users may receive the following error:
'Backup failed for Server 'SERVERPTPACCOUNTS'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The volume on device 'C:IRISDataSQLBAK 7-11-2011-14-28-30-InstallBackup.bak' is not part of a multiple family media set. BACKUP WITH FORMAT can be used to form a new media set. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)'
Resolution
In the Back Up Database screen there will be more than one destination selected under disk (in the Destination box).
Highlight the location that is not required and click the Remove button. This will then allow you to run the backup.
