Newcastle Baptist Church

Newcastle Baptist Church is a small but well established organisation whose members meet each week for worship and prayer.

The church, which was founded in 1959, originally had just 12 members but now boasts a congregation membership of around 100, with many others meeting there for activities during the week.

Located around 30 miles south of Belfast at the foot of Slieve Donard, the church is a very active one. With two services on a Sunday and midweek prayer and bible study, a Sunday school, a youth group and parent and toddler group, as well as many other activities for young and old alike, Newcastle Baptist Church lies at the heart of the community.

With such a varied programme of events, time is of the essence, and it is vital that the administrative running of the church is as efficient as possible.

Treasurer Clifford Moorhead uses IRIS PAYE Master. He says it is the perfect solution for those who need to save time to make way for bigger priorities.

He explained: “Before I used IRIS everything was rather a headache. I used tax tables and spread sheets to work everything out and I worried about all the possibilities that you could so easily get things wrong.

“I introduced IRIS more of less for time saving but it has proved very useful indeed. It now takes me around 20 or 25 minutes to do the payroll which is great. And I know that because I’m not having to keep looking things up, that the figures are right.

“IRIS PAYE Master is so easy to use. I’m a bit of a technophobe and I had no experience whatsoever of it all but I picked it all up really quickly. Everything is very tidy. There is no looking through piles of paper to find what you need. I still print off hard copies of stuff but I know if I need to find anything it all there.

“I’ve not had much problem with it at all but if I have needed to call IRIS for anything they’ve dealt with it straight away and explained things very simply. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone else.”
