Problem
When trying to finalise a pay period user gets the error:
Disk or network error
Resolution
This error may occur if the PAYE-Master data is stored on a shared network drive and the software has had a temporary loss of connection to that location. Potentially the network could also time out if it is taking a long time to finalise.
If this error is ignored, it can cause reconciliation problems with the P11 and PAYE Remittance reports, and also fail to populate any history reports correctly.
If this error occurs whilst finalising, you will need to restore the backup which should have been saved before attempting to finalise, and then try and finalise the data again.
If you continue to get “Disk or network error” when finalising, you may need to speak to your IT department regarding the connection of the shared drive.
Alternatively you may want to consider moving the data file onto the local disk drive, and save your backup files to the network to maintain your data security.
