Problem
The client has some benefits on which a s336 claim has been made; can this claim be printed from IRIS?
Resolution
What is a S336 claim?
If an employer makes a declaration on the P11D, which the employee and HMRC agree can be counted as tax deductible, this is referred to as a S336 Claim. In order to claim the employee would need to show the expense was wholly and exclusively for business
Users are required to:
1. Log on to the P11D module and select the employer.
2. Select the employee or director .
3. From the Reports menu select Expenses Claim (Automail) and select Current Person.
4. Tick the relevant options on the Automail letter options screen.
This process will generate an expenses claim letter which can then be submitted by post to the HMRC. Please be aware that the S336 claim has to be submitted via post as the HMRC will not allow this to be submitted electronically.
