Problem

The following message is being produced when generating an R40(CG) form "Please note that from 6th April 2011 onwards, HMRC will no longer accept the R40(CG) where capital gains are due to be reported the gain must now be reported don the self-assessment capital gains pages (SA800) together with the self-assessment tax return (SA100)"

Resolution

For the 2011 tax year onwards HMRC will no longer accept the R40(CG) form, if the client is due to report capital gains this must be done by submiting the SA100 and SA800 pages.
